The highlights of our visit to Livingstone, Zambia were Victoria Falls, a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River and a touching visit to a local village, called Simonga
Victoria Falls is awesome in its power and size--indeed, the very ground vibrates and trembles beneath you with this force of nature.
On our first evening at the River Club camp, we enjoyed a picturesque sunset cruise on the Zambezi River, upstream from the falls. Hippos abounded and crocs were lurking on the banks!
We spent a touching afternoon with the Villagers of Simonga--particularly the children. They had so little, but didn't know what they didn't have and so were happy just playing and being with us. This village has been badly affected with AIDS. Many children have lost their parents and are being reared by their grandparents.
