The Turtle Hospital is a life-line to injured and sick sea turtles. Its staff and volunteers perform rescue and treat the turtles. Veterinarians from the local Veterinary Hospital volunteer their time to perform surgery on the animals. Common problems seen here are emaciation due to the turtles ingesting plastic trash, boat propeller wounds, fibropapilloma tumors which sometimes grow over the turtles' eyes so they can't see, and swallowing fishing lines and hooks.
