Florida, oh Florida! I guess you could say I have a relationship with Florida--a love-hate relationship. I love its varied and unique flora and fauna. I love its coastal beauty and turquoise water. But, I hate its weather--that steamy, oppressive heat and humidity that seems to last for one long endless summer. This stormy affair of mine with Florida (hurricanes included) lasted the eighteen years I lived there, but ended when I moved to Virginia a few years ago. For most of the time I lived in Florida, I was not into photography, so my photographic journal is fairly brief.
You'll see some photos taken near my home in Tampa and north in Homosassa Springs. And, there are some from Corkscrew swamp, an important sanctuary in southwest Florida, near Naples. I've also included pictures from the Florida Keys, where I visit my brother, who lives there full-time.
I will add to the Florida section from time to time as travel permits other visits to wildlife rich areas of the state.
