Bar Harbor is a beautiful town with a pretty harbor. Its lovely summer homes have well tended flower gardens. You won't find concrete condominiums here. The character of the town is distinctly New England.
A scenic drive around Mt. Desert Island brings you to picturesque, small towns such as Northeast Harbor, Somesville and Southwest Harbor. Scenic views are everywhere.
Acadia National Park is the second most visited National Park in the U.S. after the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It features rocky coastline, mountains, and forests.
Early one foggy morning, we motored out of Jonesport on a boat to Machias Seal Island to see the puffins. We weren't disappointed after photographing nonstop for an hour in a bird blind.
